Challenge |
Provide mobile and Internet services in
the sailing ships, for both crew and passengers. Offer
connectivity without needing a network infrastructure that could
interfere with the existing ship technology. |

Solution |
The project, developed by EkoPLC ®,
consists of using the existing electrical network technology to
offer telecommunication services through low tension wires.

Benefits |
This technology will enable Acciona
Trasmediterranea ships to capture external communications via
satellite and transmit them internally throughout the ship
without having to install new wiring.
Besides, this overcomes the impossibility
of wireless networks to reach inside the ship´s metallic
structure. PLC, Internet connection using existing power lines,
is a step forward for services aimed to the client’s
satisfaction. |
